Vision Boards and 2021 Goals

Vision Boards and 2021 Goals

BEGIN ANYWHERE. You don’t need a new year or a week to start, just start and trust in the meaning of new beginnings.

As we embark on 2021, it is nice to sit down and reflect on 2020, the year that changed our experiences but inspired bold moves and different types of growth to blossom. I like to take some time to reflect and ask myself:

What did I learn from 2020?

What are my goals for 2021?

I then like to do a few little activities that help me feel refreshed, positively ready, inspired and excited for the new year. The following describes my process for focusing on my goals and visions for the new year by creating a vision board. I hope it helps you too.

What is a vision board?

A vision board is a powerful visual tool to manifest your life desires.

Vision boards contain a visual list of your future goals, put it up on your wall, desktop screensaver, or phone, somewhere you can see it. A vision board is a great way to get excited about your future and be clear about your goals. It is a gentle reminder of everything you want to work on throughout the new year. I think there is definitely something magical about putting your goals out into the world and deciding what you really want to attract into your life. It is the reminder of all the action you need to take to keep aspiring to get to where you want to be.

How to start your vision board?

I like to get started by checking in with myself, what is my vision of the future? Quite often, things change as I grow or achieve a particular goal, and 2020 was an unusual year. So at the start of every year, the vision board is an excellent way to check in with me and make sure my goals still align with the life I want and my values.

I ask myself the following question: what is it I want to bring into my life?

I think about:

-My values

-My career goals

-My family/Love life

-Fitness and health goals

-Passions or new hobbies

-What I want to learn to enable growth

Once I have answers to these questions, I can start to find images that match these goals. I like to use pictures from newspaper or magazine cut-outs, quotes or images from the web, photographs I have taken myself or PINTEREST (I truly love Pinterest).

Once I have all the pictures, the fun begins. You can arrange your board in any style that pleases you: scrapbook style, straight lines or random collages. Let your creative juices flow.

Find a place for your vision board that you can see often. I like to use my cupboard door and take a few minutes to look over my vision board once or twice in the week before I go to bed. This way, the vision of my goals are right at the top of my mind as I fall to sleep in order to prompt my sub-conscious mind to come up with new ideas on how to achieve these goals. Let the visual inspire you to take steps in achieving these goals. Have fun with it, put on some music you enjoy, take some time for you in a little self-love activity.

Remember, no dream is too big or silly.
