ABS, I love to work on my abs!

I love training core. It leaves me feeling strong and motivated. I have always wanted six-pack abs ever since I was little. I was a very athletic child and played a lot of different sports, so I didn’t have to work particularly hard to achieve a flat stomach, but to really define and tone my abs, I had to train a variety of different exercises incorporating rectus abdominals, lower abdominals and oblique abdominals.

That’s right; your abs aren’t just one muscle. They are a group of muscles woven together.

Your core muscles play an essential role in your everyday activities, from getting out of bed to walking down the street or bending over to pick something up, but most importantly, they hold you upright.  Yes, that’s right. We all have a core already; otherwise, we couldn’t perform these everyday tasks. But by strengthening the abdominal muscles in your core, you can be more efficient and improve the quality of your life.

There are also so many great benefits to core exercises that I have found when training clients. By far, the best bonus is the health of their back. By training your core muscles to build core stability and a strong core, you also help strengthen your lower back. A strong core will help support the spine and create a solid connection between your upper and lower body. A healthy core can help to prevent fatigue or back pain. Having my client’s train core two to three times a week has improved the lives of many with lower back pain.

With a strong core and back, your muscles will work together and create greater stability to improve coordination and balance. Maintaining your balance is crucial for many daily tasks such as cleaning, carrying the shopping and walking up or downstairs. It is super important to start developing a solid core while you are young, as a strong core boosts longevity and allows you to have a healthier, happier life.

To have a strong core allows you to live your life your way. Your body can handle a wider range of physical challenges with safety, helping you to find a new or more adventurous hobby. Life can be fun. A strong core helps you stay active, keeps you balanced, allows you to remain independent and mobile.
